Amy’s Story: Part Two

In the last post, I spoke about Amy, one of Mercy’s first trafficking victims. Now, I want to tell you what happened to her. Amy got her mind renewed to the Word of God, found out who she was, and was delivered from her guilt, shame, and condemnation. She found out that God knew everything about her and loved her through it all. After she graduated from Mercy, she moved back to California and got plugged into a local church where God was moving and the Word was being taught. We had taught her to speak the Word over herself every day, so her mind was renewed and her life would continue to transform.

After a time, Amy graduated from nursing school and continued to serve at her church. While at this church, a good looking young man noticed her. Now the world would say that Amy’s past would keep her from ever having a normal relationship. But God says, “You are a new creation.” God says, “You’re not a victim.” God says, “For your former shame, I’m going to give you double honor.” God says, “I’ve washed and cleansed you in the blood of Jesus. I’ve put a new heart and a new spirit within you.” After Amy met that young man, they began to date. They fell in love, and today, they are happily married. Though her story breaks his heart, he is not moved by it one bit.

1 John 3:8 says, “For this purpose was the Son of God manifest that He might destroy the works of the devil.” What happened to Amy was the work of the devil, but Jesus destroyed Him, and now Amy is set free. Amy knows she is redeemed. She now knows that if God can change her, He can change anybody.
